I have quite the talented group of friends! Here are the cards from our October Shoebox Swap. Each person who came designed their own project to share with the group. We had so much fun stamping, visiting, laughing and snacking!

Welcome to the FSJ Creative Team's October Blog Hop.
You will find all things autumn on this hop. Enjoy!
This card trio combines three of my favorite things: the FSJ Hello Fall Bundle, autumn inspiration and clean & simple design. Sometimes clean & simple (CAS) cards can be difficult because crafters generally enjoy embellishments and filling up space. If you haven't given CAS a try, you should! It's a great exercise in knowing when to stop, appreciating the white space and embellishing with respect to minimalism.
**A list of supplies used on all three cards can be found at the end of this post. Thank you.**
I'm sure many of you are familiar with 'Triple Time Stamping Technique' which involves layering three pieces of card stock, stamping them all over and adding a matte to each layer. I took this popular technique and paired it way down to give it a clean and simple look. I think the result is very eye catching and elegant. I started with two pieces of buttercream card stock: 4" x 5-1/4" and 3-1/4" x 4-1/2". I temporarily taped them together using washi tape while I stamped the leaves. To stamp the leaves from the Hello Fall stamp set, I used raspberry berry, pumpkin bread and haystack ink. I then stamped the 'Autumn Greetings' sentiment in dark roast ink. I removed the washi tape and added dark roast card stock mattes: 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" and 3-3/8" x 4-5/8".
I put card front together, matching the leaves up from each piece. Cut a piece of gold thread 13" long. I separated the thin gold thread from the twine because I only wanted to utilize the gold thread for this card. Wrap the metallic thread twice around the card front and tie it in a bow. Adhere the card front to the 4-1/4" x 11" buttercream card base using foam squares. Put a small dot of journey glaze on the center of the bow so it stays tied. Embellish the card with fashion gold pieces.
I wanted to give the acorns an ombré look so I stamped them in oatmeal cookie, hazelnut blend and dark roast ink on buttercream card stock. I die cut them using the coordinating die set. I stamped the 'Hello Fall' sentiment in hazelnut blend ink on a 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" square of buttercream card stock. I used the FSJ corner rounder on the upper right and lower left corner of the buttercream panel and 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" corrugated stock square panel.
I used the journey piecing mat, basics piercing template and bloom tool to create the pierced design under the sentiment. I used foam squares to adhere the panels together and also to the 4-1/4" x 8-1/2" buttercream card base. I added the die cut acorns above the sentiment with foam squares and covered them in journey glaze.
My final card in the collection was inspired by the colors of the rainbow. I stamped the leaves in pomegranate splash, tangerine fusion, summer days and kiwi slice ink. I then die cut the stamped images using the coordinating die. I added pool play ink right to clear block E and stamped it on a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of whip cream card stock.
I stamped the 'Thankful' sentiment on the panel in black licorice ink. I flicked sparkle silk on the panel from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. I adhered the front panel to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of black licorice card stock. I adhered the whole card front to a 4-1/4" x 11" whip cream card base. The leaves were adhered to the front using foam squares. I embellished using rainbow drops adhered with journey glaze and went over the sentiment with journey glaze. Pro tip: change the applicator tip of your journey glaze to a new tip when going over sentiments, it will make a finer line of glaze.
I hope you enjoyed my clean & simple autumn collection. I would love to see what CAS creations you come up with - feel free to link them in comments on this post.
